Inpaint is the most powerful tool in Lumen, and the most demanding. Brush over any region in any frame and choose to remove it, replace it with something else, or restyle it.
Three modes
- Remove object — paints the region with background. Use for power lines, distractions, errant tourists.
- Replace object — paints the region with a new object from your prompt. Use for product swaps, sign changes, prop replacement.
- Restyle region — keeps the object but changes its appearance. Use for colour changes, style transfer, look development.
Mask carefully
The brush opens after upload. Mask the first frame, the last frame, and 1-2 frames in between — Lumen interpolates the rest. The closer your masks track the subject, the cleaner the result.
Brush size
Use small brushes for precise objects (faces, signs). Use larger brushes for vague regions (skies, walls).
Prompts
For Replace mode: describe what should be there, not what's currently there. A vintage red bicycle leaning against the brick wall beats not a car.
